       Chin surgery can improve the size and shape of the chin. The chin can be surgically altered in shape and size by a number of techniques. Surgery with implants can enlarge the chin or the chin size can be reduced by the removal of bone.  Many patients who are interested in rhinoplasty (surgery of the nose) can also benefit from a chin augmentation, since a definite and important relationship exists between the chin and nasal shapes.

MENTOPLASTY (CHIN AUGMENTATION) involves placement of a small implant over the prominence of the chin to increase the chin projection and bring the whole contour of the face more in harmony. The implants are placed through incisions in either the mouth or under the chin. The procedure is performed under local anesthesia in our office and takes 1.5 hours. You may need to have someone stay with you the night after surgery and can usually resume work in 3 to 4 days. The surgery cost includes the chin implant fee, operating room fee and all of your follow up visits.
